Good information to help with food costs ! Share with a friendLET'S TALK ABOUT INFLATION FIGHTING FOOD ASSISTANCE
Things have changed! Trips to the grocery store are expensive. Bread/cereal prices up by 18%, meat up 17%, milk up 26%, cooking oils up 46%...
Another change is the old "food stamp" program. It's now the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and:
- while the minimum can be $23, new data shows the average is $154 per month. (Even at $23, you can "let it load" to build up the benefit)
- Once qualified, medical deductions can increase benefits
- Simplified applications, recertify every 3 years, debit card for tax free groceries
In today's times, it's worth it to apply. Contact us at 251-706-4680 or aginginfo@sarpc.org.
